A gust of 99mph was recorded at Needles Old Battery, Isle of Wight, at 06:00 GMT.  Many rail services are cancelled or delayed and around 130 flights are cancelled at Heathrow. There are thought to be over 200,000 homes without power across the UK, after damage to lines from falling trees and high winds, according to UK Energy Networks. Hundreds of trees have been blown.
