Heatwave gives way to downpours and flood warnings

Posted by Administrator : Monday 29th July 2013

As you may have noticed heavy rain has fallen across parts of the UK as the hottest July in seven years ends on a wet note. Met Office yellow "be aware" warnings for rain are in place for northern England, Scotland, and the West and East Midlands. Overnight heavy rain fell over Market Harborough, Leicestershire, and parts of Newcastle. There are four flood warnings, in Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

The number of Environment Agency alerts in the Midlands, north-east and north-west of England began to fall during the morning.

If you live in these regions or well known flooding spots please take pre-cautions as more heavy showers could be on their way in the next few days/weeks.
